Fiafia Performance

Walking on to the stage I was really nervous. When I looked at the crowd in front of me I saw heaps of dark faces. The oil dripped off my legs because I was sweating way too much.

We have been learning all about independent and dependent clauses in complex sentences.

This complex sentence that I have written uses a dependent and independent clause. A dependent clause, needs extra detail so that it can complete the sentence, whereas an independent sentence could actually make a sentence on its own.

Here is my sentence:

Cyclone Lusi

Cyclone Lusi hit the North Island on Saturday. Howling winds rattled the windows, I  was sleeping so I did not hear it in the night. Pouring rain was falling from the grey sky. It sounded like the water going down the plug hole in the bath. When i woke up it was cold because it was foggy and still raining.

My Big Brother

This is me and my brother Daniel, boxing together. After boxing, my brother and I went and ate ice cream.
I love my big brother, he goes to St Kentigerns School and is really good at rugby.

Top Schools

On Sunday I went to Top Schools. There were seven children in my team - we were called “Super Seven”.
The first game we played was the Sponge Race. Then we did the Boot Throw - we had to throw a boot onto a plastic plate. The best game was the Ski Run. We had to wear enormous jandals. I was the team leader and I had to call either black or yellow and the team had to lift up that coloured foot. We fell over three times.
 It was a fun day at Top Schools.
